Ocala leaders are getting tough on crime at a troublesome apartment complex.

Last month, police officers arrested six people who lived at the Parkside Garden Apartments on weapons and drug charges. It happened after one person was shot and killed -- four others were hit.

Ocala Mayor Kent Guinn on Thursday laid out a list of improvements for the complex to get it up to code.     He also wants stricter eviction policies.

"I'm talking about the activity that goes on now with the fights, the drug sales, the murders," he said. "That right there is the problem, that people are living in fear, and that's gotta end."

Later this month, the city council will decide on a deadline for the apartment complex to get up to code.
