Mom arrested in infant hot car death

A mother was arrested after her baby died from sitting in a hot car for several hours while the family attended church

A Florida mother has been arrested and could face charges in the death of her 11-month-old after the infant was left in a hot car while the family attended church service, according to the Palm Bay Police Department.

Officers responded to the Mount of Olives Evangelical Church in Palm Bay on May 28 after the infant was found unresponsive inside the car. The child was transported to the hospital and later died.

The child's mom, Bulaine Molme, 38, told officers that she was running late for church service, one she was officiating, and thought another member of the church had brought the child inside.

However, when the service ended about three hours later, Molme discovered that the child was not in the church or with any church members. She went out to the car and found the child unresponsive, police said.
