Parents arrested after fleeing with 3 children from Largo custody meeting: Police
LARGO, Fla. - Two parents were arrested and booked into the Pinellas County jail after taking off with their three children from a mandatory visit at the Department of Children and Families office in Largo.
The three children were found unharmed, Largo police reported on Wednesday, and the parents, Natalie and Tyler Spears, were taken into custody around 3 a.m. Wednesday morning.
Investigators said the two parents both appeared at the DCF office on Ulmerton Road for the mandatory visit about their children. During the visit, the parents received information that would have impacted their ability to retain custody of the three children.
Their charges are listed as interference with custody.

Tamara and James Slayton, the grandparents of the children, got emotional talking about their disappearance on Tuesday.
"We just want them safe. That's it. Once my arms are around them, that's when they're safe," Tamara said.
They said they usually do not go more than a few days without talking to the childrens' mother, but the last time they'd heard from her was February 20.
"Please just turn the children in," James said. "Just turn the kids in. If you want to live this lifestyle, that's fine, but the children don't need to be involved. They're innocent."
