null - Donald Trump is preparing to announce his selection for vice president as he campaigns for a second stint in the White House.
Several names are rumored as candidates, one being Marco Rubio. However, this may not happen under Constitutional law.
The Florida senator may not be able to be Trump’s vice president because the 12th Amendment of the Constitution states that two candidates from the same state cannot run as president and vice president.

Rubio would be required to change his Florida residency— something he is reportedly willing to do.
"The Electors shall meet in their respective states and vote by ballot for President and Vice-President, one of whom, at least, shall not be an inhabitant of the same state with themselves," the 12th Amendment states, per constitution.congress.gov.
Rubio is knowledgeable of foreign policy and national security issues in the Republican party. He speaks Spanish and could help Trump win over the Hispanic voters that his campaign is courting, the Associated Press reported.
Rubio being Trump's possible VP seemed like a longshot given that the two were rivals in 2016 for the Republican nomination and routinely attacked one another.

The former president disparaged Rubio as "Little Marco," mocked him for drinking water during speeches, and called him a "nervous basket case," who was "disgusting." Rubio said Trump was a "con man" who tried to "swindle" the Republican Party and Rubio tried to question Trump's manhood, the AP noted.
While speaking with reporters this weekend, Trump said the person he has picked will "most likely" attend Thursday's first debate between Trump and President Joe Biden, which will take place in Atlanta, FOX News reported.
