Man suffered burns in Avalon Park townhome fire

AVALON PARK, Fla. (FOX 35 ORLANDO) - Orange County firefighters rescued a man from a burning townhome on Saturday.

It happened on Cygnus Drive in Avalon Park.

Fire officials say the man, who is in his 50s, is recovering from burns to his upper and lower body, after what started as a car fire in the garage that spread to the home.

Officials say another man in the home woke up to the fire alarm and climbed out of a second-story window to escape the flames.

Investigators say people in the unit next door were displaced from their home because their power was cut off.
