A group of lumber yard workers made an interesting find while working in Cloverdale on Monday: a prosthetic leg with a sneaker still attached to it.

According to the Sonoma County Sheriff's Office, the leg had an owner who was missing it very badly.

"Turns out that an amputee went skydiving yesterday and his leg fell off in mid-flight from about 10,000 feet up," the sheriff's office wrote on Facebook. "After they landed, he and friends looked around the area but couldn’t find it."

After posting a leg on social media and doing some research, deputies were able to reunite the leg with a man named Dion from Marin.

"Great guy, full of humor who said he lost his first leg in a freak skydiving accident two years ago but that hasn’t held him back. He jokingly quipped that this was his second leg lost while skydiving."

Dion said that the leg cost $15,000 but he was more grateful that no one was hurt when it fell from the sky.
