Man impaled by fence lucky to be alive

MARION COUNTY, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35) - A 25-year-old man is lucky to be alive after being impaled by part of a fence in June.

"I went to go move and that's when I felt the fence board under my chest," said Dalton Marsh.

Marsh was sitting in the passenger seat as his friend drove down Highway 318 in Marion County when the car hydroplaned, flipped over and crashed into the fence that ended up inside Marsh's chest.

Miraculously, he didn't suffer any major internal injuries.

Marsh's friends and family are organizing a fundraiser for him on Saturday in Williston.
