Man extradited from Puerto Rico on murder charge

Osceola County Sheriff Marco Lopez has announced a recent homicide arrest and extradition of a 24-year-old man.

Osceola County Sheriff Marco Lopez announced the arrest and extradition of a 24-year-old man in connection with a recent homicide during a news conference on Tuesday.

Deputies responded to a shooting on Saturday, Aug. 24, 2024, outside Beyond Smoke Shop in Kissimmee, where they found a 23-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the head. The victim was pronounced dead shortly after authorities arrived.

Osceola Sheriff Lopez discusses recent homicide arrest

Osceola County Sheriff Lopez held a press conference today on a recent homicide arrest and extradition.

Surveillance footage captured the suspect, identified as 24-year-old Jordany Ramos, shooting the victim in the back of the head, according to the sheriff's office. Investigators learned Ramos had fled to Puerto Rico as they worked to secure an arrest warrant.

Sheriff Lopez thanked Puerto Rican law enforcement for their swift assistance in arresting Ramos within 24 hours. Ramos was extradited and returned to Osceola County Jail on Oct. 26, 2024.

Ramos has been charged with murder and is being held without bond.
