OCOEE, Fla. (FOX 35 WOFL) - The Ocoee Police Department reports that on December 31st around 8 p.m., they received a call in reference to an aggravated assault at the Herbal Spa & Massage located on Clarke Road in Ocoee.
Police say that a man, after briefly speaking with a female employee about prices, stated that he would be right back and exited the spa. Shortly after, the male entered the spa a second time and stated that he was ready.
However, police say that as the female turned towards the back of the business, the male sprayed some form of chemical spray into the female employee's face, causing her to scream and run out the front door. Both the female employee and male exited the business from different exits.
Police say that when the woman walked back into the business to wash her face, the male re-entered the spa and approached the female employee from behind as he attempted to put some type of rope around her neck. She screamed and was able to push the male off of her as ran out the back door of the space.
The man reportedly chased the female employee out of the business but left in a dark colored SUV as the female employee ran towards a Hungry Howie's restaurant for someone to call 911.
The male suspect was arrested. He was identified as Eric Grenier.
