Lawmakers pushing for bill that would limit 'Baker Act' restraints for minors

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - Children in Florida are being 'baker acted in record numbers.'

Lawmakers are pushing a bill that would limit how minors are restrained.

The Baker Act lets families get people with mental illness emergency care while they are detained.

The bill would go into effect in July 2020.
