Kitten rescued from Caloosahatchee River by Fort Myers police officer
FORT MYERS, Fla. - A wayward kitten had a harrowing ordeal Monday when it fell into the Caloosahatchee River but was saved by quick-acting officers from the Fort Myers Police Department.
The department said it received reports of a cat wandering on the Caloosahatchee Bridge. When officers arrived, the frightened feline leaped into the river.

Marine Officer Gagnon sprang into action, pulling the kitten from the water and bringing it safely to shore. Officer Bradford later comforted the young cat as it recovered from its ordeal.
Photos shared by the department captured the heartwarming rescue, which they called a "purrrfect ending" for the lucky feline.
