Family rescued from Milton flooding by Orange County Fire Rescue

A family of four was rescued from a home and were transported to a shelter by Orange County Fire Rescue.

Hurricane Milton is moving off the east coast of Florida after leaving severe flooding and wind damage in parts of Orange County. Now officials are in full swing responding to rescues throughout the county. 

Hambleton Ave Rescue

A family of four was rescued from a home and were transported to a shelter by Orange County Fire Rescue.

Orange County Fire Rescue shared this video of the water rescue on their X (formerly Twitter) account Thursday morning.

This rescue took place on Hambleton Avenue in the Edgewater and Winter Park area. 

Buck Road Rescue

Orange County Fire Rescue and Orange County Sheriff's Office took to the flooded roads of an Orlando neighborhood.

Crews checked every home in the area of Riverdale road and Buck road as they experienced severe flooding from Hurricane Milton.

OCSO shared photos of this rescue on their X account.

Orange County Fire Rescue also shared video of the rescue with FOX 35.

The crew walked through the mobile home neighborhood in chest high waters as none of the residents wanted to leave their homes, according to officials.

Orange County officials rescue residents in chest deep water

Orange County Fire Rescue and Orange County Sheriff's Office took to the flooded roads of an Orlando neighborhood to rescue those stuck in their homes.

Downtown Orlando

Strong winds swept through Downtown Orlando on Wednesday evening as Hurricane Milton moved its way across the state.

The strong winds caused damage, including a fallen traffic light at the intersection of Orange and Church Street.

Orlando traffic lights knocked down to ground by Milton

Strong winds from Hurricane Milton knocked down traffic lights and street signs at a busy downtown Orlando intersection. FOX 35's Marley Capper shows the scene at Orange and Church. More damage is being discovered by officials now that the sun is up in the aftermath of the hurricane.

Officials are still assessing the damage.
