PATAGONIA, Ariz. (KTVU) - A letter to Santa made its way across the border and onto an Arizona ranch -- and into the hands of a generous man.
Randy Heiss went hiking near the U.S.-Mexico recently and came across the remains of a balloon with a piece of paper attached to the string.
He discovered a list, written in Spanish with words like "doll," "dollhouse," and "clothes."
He told a radio station in Mexico about the balloon and the Christmas wish list that he found. And they helped him find the author of the letter: An 8-year-old girl named Dayami living in Nogales, Mexico.
Heiss got in touch with the Daymi's family and decided to play Santa.
He and his wife bought almost everything on her list, delivering gifts to Dayami and her 4-year-old sister, Ximena.
