GBI: 2 Georgia teens charged with murder, shooting

The agents with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation and deputies with the Fannin County Sheriff's Office have charged two young teenagers with the murder of a 33-year-old man and the shooting of a woman.

Early in the morning on Tuesday, Dec. 4, deputies say they were called to a scene on Elrod Lane in Morganton.

The caller, 35-year-old Morganton resident Anna Franklin, told investigators she and a man had been shot.

By the time police got to the scene, 33-year-old Justin McKinney was dead. Medics rushed Franklin to a nearby hospital for treatment. The murder has stunned those who call Morganton home.

"Absolutely shocking. For a quiet neighborhood to have something like that happens, it's scary," Morganton resident Jack Rasmussen told FOX 5's Aungelique Proctor.

Even more alarming several parents and students told FOX 5 the teens showed up at Fannin County High School the same day as if nothing ever happened.

" I think it is kinda scary especially since they go to our school. I think it's just a scary thought that this happened the day before and then they came into school," high school junior Madison Mitchum said.

A few hours later, authorities arrested the two teenagers, 15-year-old Blake Dickey, also known as Blake Dye, and 15-year-old Hunter Hill for the murder. Deputies and the GBI have not yet released the events leading up to the murder.

Dickey and Hill have each been charged with a count of murder. Additional charges are pending.

They will be housed at the Elbert Shaw Regional Youth Detention Center.
