Hispanic grocery chain Fresco y Más opened its first store in central Florida Wednesday morning at 7382 E. Curry Ford Road in Orlando.

Parent company Southeastern Grocers has converted 25 Winn-Dixie stores to Fresco y Más since June 2016.

The renovated stores feature a produce selection with a selection of tropical fruits, a “Cocina” with prepared foods, a full-service Latin butcher shop, and a renovated bakery featuring Hispanic pastries and local baked good.

The company claims that since the first store opened in the Miami area, the brand has become the fastest growing Hispanic grocery store in Florida.

At this time, Southeaster Grocers President and CEO Anthony Hucker says there are no immediate plans for another location in central Florida, but “The customers, at least on the first day, seem to like it. If they continue to like it then maybe we’ll do more.”

Fox 35 reporter Dana Jay went to the store's opening and many festivities were underway.
