SANFORD, Fla. - A woman was arrested Tuesday in connection to a deadly shooting in Seminole County, according to police.
The backstory:
On Jan. 31, shortly after midnight, officers responded to a shooting at an apartment complex on Wyndham Crest Boulevard in Sanford. The victim, 31-year-old Brandon Sullivan, was found lying on the third floor hallway of the complex with a gunshot wound to the abdomen.
He was taken to a local hospital where he died from his injuries.
Who is Sara Elizabeth Jameson?
What we know:
The Sanford Police Department identified the suspect as 34-year-old Sara Elizabeth Jameson.
Sullivan and Jameson were in an on-and-off romantic relationship and shared a child together, according to an arrest report.
Jameson told police that the two of them were having a good time that night and decided to have drinks at her apartment.

They both left the apartment and, upon returning to the complex, they got into an argument inside Sullivan's vehicle.
That's when Jameson told police that Sullivan "snapped" and became "violent" towards her, the report stated.
She told investigators that he chased her up the stairs, but could not remember what took place once upstairs.
Jameson told police that she had a gun on her during the argument, but she couldn't recall when she drew the weapon or where she allegedly shot Sullivan.
What they're saying:
When asked why she felt it was necessary to shoot Sullivan, she replied, "Because he beat the s**t out of me so many times" and "I thought he was going to do it again", according to the arrest report.
Timeline:
Investigators reviewed a neighbor's doorbell camera footage which appeared to capture the moments before the shooting.
12:12 a.m. | The video showed Sullivan walking up the stairs of the complex with Jameson following behind. The next clip reportedly showed Sullivan hit her in the face, during which she could be heard saying, "Don't touch me Brandon," the report stated.
After hitting her, police said Sullivan pushed her out of the camera's view. Jameson reappeared in camera view and pointed to the camera, saying, "See that, you're on f**king camera, you know that."
12:16 a.m. | Jameson is seen walking towards the stairwell on the phone with 911 and is then seen walking back toward Sullivan stating, "Baby please wake up".
Police responded to the complex at 12:19 a.m.
Investigators said Jameson had some "discrepancies" in her statement, as the video did not show Sullivan chasing her up the stairs like she previously mentioned.
Authorities also noted that they spoke to her post-Miranda in two separate interviews, and during both interviews, she never mentioned being in fear for her life or identified any injuries caused by Sullivan that would have justified using deadly force.
Jameson was arrested and booked into the Seminole County jail on a charge of second-degree homicide.
