VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. - Police say an 11-year-old middle school student in Florida stood up on a bus and claimed another student had a bomb in his backpack Friday morning.
However, a police investigation revealed there was no bomb.
All students and staff are safe, officials report.
Note: FOX 35 has decided not to name the boy or show his face, due to his age and because he has not been charged as an adult. Florida law, however, does allow law enforcement the ability to release a minor's name, age and photo under certain circumstances.

New details: In an updated report, deputies say the student admitted he made up the bomb threat and never had any reason to believe there was actually a bomb on the bus.
