Sanford police say 22-year-old was shot in front of Best Buy in planned 'heist' gone wrong
SEMINOLE COUNTY, Fla. - FOX 35 News is learning new details on a December murder that happened right in front of a Sanford Best Buy.
Two young men were in court Friday, accused of homicide.
A third suspect is on the run, and his own mother helped police crack the case.
Terance Darnell Pope
What We Know: Investigators are still trying to figure out what led up to the trigger being pulled, and Terance Pope being killed.
Pope’s mother declined to interview Friday, but did say over the phone that she just wants that third person caught.

Khalil Hunter, 22, and Shunavious Dorsey, 21, both appeared before a Seminole County judge Friday.
"It is a homicide charge, which is a capital felony," the judge told them.
And both learned they’ll be staying in jail with no bond until their case is resolved.
"It’s probably best if you go out and get representation, OK?" the judge explained to Dorsey, who did not have an attorney with him at his first appearance.
What We Don't Know: Hunter and Dorsey’s arrest affidavits say the two of them had some sort of plan to sell electronics to Terance Pope. Trekelle Perkins, the deputy chief of the Sanford Police Department, says the details of that transaction are still unclear.
"We still haven't figured out exactly what the transaction was or how it was supposed to occur," Perkins said. "But we do know that they agreed to engage in a transaction for electronics. I guess they changed the rules to their agreement. They didn't engage into the transaction. They robbed him, we believe, and then ended up shooting him."
Pope would have been turning 22 years old in a couple of weeks.
What They're Saying: "Still kind of unbelievable," his mother, who asked to remain anonymous, told FOX 35 earlier in the week. "I have a hard time accepting what has happened."
"He wasn’t a tough, scary guy," Pope’s stepfather told FOX 35’s Chris Lindsey. "He was just a fun guy, a fun kid. Lovable guy. Always laughing and joking."
What's Next: There’s one more person Sanford Police still have to arrest in this case: 22-year-old James Nelson.
Police say his own mother called them, saying he was involved.
He was at first semi-cooperative with detectives, eventually admitting he was the getaway driver.
Now, he’s charged with murder too.
"We believe all three played equal involvement in this, and they were all charged equally," said Perkins.
Police issued a warrant for his arrest after finding text messages where he told a friend he was on a heist.
What You Can Do: Now, the police are asking for help finding him.
"He is aware of the warrant, he was in contact with our investigations team," Perkins said. "And he was, from my understanding, he was going to come in to talk to us after the one was issued. But at that point, he changed his mind."
Hunter and Dorsey will both have arraignments Feb. 11.
