TAMPA, Fla. (FOX 35 WOFL) - AAA reports that Florida gas prices are facing upward pressure.
The group said that although Florida gas prices have been able to avoid the increase in price that the rest of the country faces, Florida prices could soon rise.
"Gas prices have yet to travel south for the winter, thanks in large part to a strong oil market," said Mark Jenkins, a AAA spokesman. "Rising oil prices are making it more expensive to produce gasoline. Although the average price in Florida hasn't changed in the past two weeks, wholesale prices are climbing, which may cause retailers to raise pump prices soon. If this happens, Florida motorists could see a 5-10 cent increase at the pumps."
