Threatening incidents reported

Timeline: Police said they responded to a complaint on Jan. 3 from a man who said his landlord, Hull, threatened to kill him and his friend.

The man told officers Hull was outside his house threatening to kill him, banging on his windows and throwing his property. In another incident, he said Hull was threatening to "cut his head off."

In the police report, the man said he had been a tenant of Hull for several years, in which he and other neighbors had dealt with prior similar incidents. The man told officers Hull was arrested in 2021, so different owners managed the property until November 2024.

Reports show when Hull was released and returned to manage the property, the man had two civil conversations with Hull.

Officers state the man was watching a show Jan. 1 when he heard Hull screaming outside saying he would kill him. The man then heard noises consistent with items being "thrown around" in a neighbor's carport. He began to record Hull screaming and contacted the police.

MORE STORIES:

The man said he was cleaning his apartment the next day when he heard Hull outside again making threats. The man told officials he grabbed his firearm and called the police.

Reports show another similar incident was reported the same day.

Threats discovered on social media

Officers say the man posted on social media, warning others of Hull's actions.

The investigation showed Hull also posted similar threats to the ones he made to the man on his own social media accounts, which the man reported to police.

Officers say they then were dispatched Jan. 6 in reference to Hull threatening to hurt another neighbor. The person who filed the complaint said Hull was holding a can of gasoline.

Extensive criminal history

The backstory: Through the investigation, police discovered Hull has an extensive history of involvement with law enforcement and is known by officers to possess a machete and keep multiple knives in his residence.

What we know: It was determined that between Jan. 1 and 6, Hull made threats to kill or hurt two of his neighbors during unprovoked incidents. He also posted similar written threats to kill on his personal, public Facebook profile within minutes of one of the disturbances.

Detectives state they conducted a criminal investigation resulting in the arrest warrant for Hull on Jan. 6.
