Police: Florida man arrested after being accused of breaking into cars, shot by homeowner
BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. - A Florida man has been arrested on multiple charges after police say he allegedly attempted to break into several cars before being shot by the homeowner.
The City of Palm Bay Police Department says the man has been identified as 26-year-old Javone Williams.

Officers say they responded to reports of a suspicious vehicle Dec. 27 in the area of 501 Titan Road SE in Brevard County.
The person filing the complaint told police a silver SUV was parked in front of their residence.
As police were heading to the reported location, they say they received another call about a similar vehicle being involved in a shooting at a residence down the street.
Officers report they then headed to the location of the reported shooting, where they found shell casings on the roadway.
Officials state the resident said he got an alert from his Ring camera that someone was in his driveway, and he exited his home armed with a gun when he noticed suspects going through his vehicles.
An official police report shows the resident confronted two men, and one shot a gun at the resident, who then returned fire.

While officers were on the scene of the incident, they said they learned of a person who had been shot arriving at Palm Bay ER. Police say they identified the man as Williams.
Officials report Williams said he was near Malabar Road and Capeador Street NW in a vehicle and was confronted by another vehicle that shot at him and his friend.
However, police say they did not find any casings or evidence of a shooting near the location, and they said Williams' injuries did not appear to be consistent with the story he told. The official police report also states Williams told police he got to the area in an Uber requested by his girlfriend, but the girlfriend told police this was not true.
Police say surveillance video shows the two men searching two separate vehicles, and one begins shooting at the resident before they are driven off by another person in the driver's seat of a car.
Although officers say Williams is wearing the same pants in the video as he was at the hospital, police say he denied being involved in the incident and refused to provide DNA.
Officers say they performed a gun-shot residue test on Williams after he was cleared at the hospital, and the test was positive.
A criminal history check also revealed that Williams is a convicted felon, most recently out of Brevard County, officers report.
Williams was arrested and is being charged with armed burglary with a firearm, aggravated assault with a firearm, discharging a firearm from a vehicle, discharging a firearm in a residential area and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
