Firefighters respond to report of smoke at Orange County elementary school

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. (FOX 35 WOFL) - Firefighters were at East Lake Elementary School in Orange County after receiving reports of smoke, but the school has since been cleared.

An official with the Orange County Fire Rescue Department says they do not believe any students were on campus yet, as the school start time is 8:45 a.m. but the incident was reported at 7:41 a.m. The principal evacuated a building prior to their arrival, though. 

Orange County Fire Rescue Department soon confirmed that the school was safe to re-enter. The building was evacuated due to an air handler problem in a classroom.
