FHP: 3 dead after motorcycle and car collide in Alachua County

Three adults are dead after a motorcyclist crashed into a car Monday morning, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The crash occurred around 11:30 a.m when a vehicle, being driven by a 59 year-old from Gainesville attempted to enter State Road 26 from NW 109th Street, in Alachua County, and was hit by a motorcycle.  FHP says the impact was so strong, the vehicle overturned. The driver, a 90-year-old passenger, as well as the 31-year-old motorcyclist were all pronounced deceased on scene. 

Florida Highway Patrol has not released the names of the victims, and states the crash is still under investigation. 

State Road 26 was closed in both directions for the investigation.
