Deadly crash shuts down part of Florida Turnpike in Orlando

A fatal crash on the Florida Turnpike in Orlando has shut down the northbound lanes of the road as Florida Highway Patrol investigates.

ORLANDO, Fla. - A fatal crash on the Florida Turnpike in Orlando has shut down the northbound lanes of the road as Florida Highway Patrol investigates.

FOX 35's Jayme King says this is at mile marker 257 approaching Sand Lake Road. The delays are from the Florida Turnpike at the 417 junction northbound and expanding to Sand Lake Road.

SKYFOX flew over the scene where a vehicle was spotted near a body of water.

According to FHP, the crash involved a Jeep Cherokee and a Volkswagen Jetta, but did not give any other details. They said some of the lanes should reopen shortly.
