LAKE COUNTY, Fla. - The Florida Highway Patrol says one person has died in a three-vehicle crash that took place Wednesday morning in Lake County.
Troopers report the crash took place around 6:08 a.m. on County Road 42, east of State Road 19 in Altoona.
Preliminary evidence shows the crash involved a 2006 Chevy Cobalt, a 2019 Subaru WRX and a 2018 Ford F-150, officials state.
Troopers said the Chevy was traveling eastbound on C.R. 42, east of S.R. 19; the Subaru was traveling westbound on C.R. 42, east of S.R. 19; and the Ford was traveling behind the Subaru.
The driver of the Chevy failed to navigate a curve and entered into the westbound lane in the direct path of the Subaru, officers reported.
Officials stated the front of the Chevy struck the front of Subaru, and the driver of the Ford tried to swerve but was unable to avoid the Subaru and hit it.
