Eastbound I-4 ramp to northbound Kirkman Road closing, temporary ramp in place
ORLANDO, Fla. (FOX 35 WOFL) - Another change is coming to Interstate 4 (I-4). This time, it's for travelers heading eastbound near Downtown.
Kirkman Road is a straight shot to Universal Orlando Resort, so that means thousands of commuters will travel that way to get to and from work or to spend a day having fun.
Starting Tuesday morning, the eastbound I-4 ramp to northbound Kirkman Road is closing until summer of 2019. There will be a temporary exit ramp on the left side of eastbound I-4 to Grand National Drive.
Officials say the reason for the change up is so they can replace the old exit ramp to northbound Kirkman Road and build a brand new one that will take you from eastbound I-4 to southbound Kirkman.
The new ramps will help support the new I-4 express lanes.
