Eastbound and westbound S.R. 408 exit ramp closures
ORLANDO, Fla. (FOX 35 WOFL) - The FDOT has announced that the eastbound and westbound S.R. 408 exit ramp to westbound I-4 are closing for six nights to work towards the building of a flyover ramp.
The I-4 Ultimate Project will begin forming a portion of the flyover ramp from eastbound and westbound I-4 to westbound S.R. 408.
To accommodate the safe placement of the bridge girders, the eastbound and westbound S.R. 408 exit ramp to westbound I-4 are closing for six nights over a two-week period beginning Tuesday, February 13th.
The ramp closures will begin each night at 9 p.m. and conclude at 6 a.m. the following morning. The six scheduled dates for the overnight ramp closures are February 13-14, 15-16, 17-18, 21-22, 23-24 (10:30 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. on this date) and 26-27.
Modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions.
FDOT advises that motorists maintain a safe speed when driving through the work zone.
The I-4 Ultimate project is rebuilding 21 miles of Interstate 4 (I-4) from west of Kirkman Road in Orange County to east of State Road 434 in Seminole County. The work includes adding two new dynamic tolled Express Lanes in each direction, replacing more than 140 bridges, reconfiguring 15 major interchanges and reconstructing the entire roadway.
