Deputy shot at, several suspects still on the run

An Orange County Sheriff's Office was shot at overnight on Wyndham Lane, according to police.

The Orange County Sheriff's Office says that an deputy was following a vehicle that was driving around to different areas spotted by different deputies. When the deputy turned down Wyndham Lane, the people in the car allegedly rolled down their windows and fired shots at the deputy.

The deputy was said to have gotten out of his car and took cover. He also called in shots fired, requesting immediate back-up. He was shot at an estimated five to seven times, as that many rounds pierced the deputy's car. The deputy says he did not return fire.

The Sheriff's Office went on to say that several people got out of the vehicle at Pioneer Road near Ridgewood Elementary School. Three suspects have been arrested so far. 

At one point, 25 to 30 cops were on scene assisting the deputy.

Thankfully, the deputy is reported to be not injured.

A home on Wyndham Drive also took several bullets.

Extra deputies are patrolling the area this morning.
