A veteran and convicted felon from Connecticut open fired from inside an Ormond Beach condominium Airbnb and was killed by a Volusia County sniper.

The man, Joseph DiFusco, fired an estimated 200 rounds at residents and deputies on Thanksgiving morning for several hours, which came after 3 previous visits made by law enforcement, including a well-being check.

Sheriff Chitwood stated during a press conference that they worked to try and communicate with DiFusco, but he would not listen, which is why they ended up shooting and killing him.
