DELAND, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35) - In body camera video from DeLand Police from June 24, 2018, you see Corporal Ken Ramkissoon and other officers responding to a call for help by a store clerk at a 7-Eleven who says two men were trespassing.
In body camera you hear the clerk say, “This guy threatened me with a brick the last time he was here. He always comes up and kisses the glass.”
Corporal Ramkissoon is seen yelling at one of the men at the bench in front of the store, and Gerald Davis out in front of the store. Ramkissoon says on the body camera, “Did I tell you to leave? Don’t raise your voice at me cuz I’ll drop your [expletive].”
Officer Allison Bainbridge appears upset with the interaction and walks away. You hear her body camera recording say, “Alright, I'm gone."
She was so upset she filed a complaint and an internal investigation started.
The police chief sent FOX 35 a statement which read, "Corporal Ramkissoon had used profanities and other language that was unprofessional and threatening toward the two subjects who were ultimately trespassed that night. The use of profanities directed toward the public and/or using unprofessional and discourteous speech violates our standards of conduct."
He also reprimanded Corporal Ramkissoon for not turning on his body camera right away. He also points out the officers and Corporal have had several interactions with the two men that were trespassed.
Regardless, says he demands his officer be courteous.
