Daytona Beach boardwalk roller coaster taken down

The site of the Sand Blaster roller coaster is sitting empty on the Daytona Beach boardwalk. It was never operational after a horrific crash severely injured six people more than a year ago.

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - A Daytona Beach roller coaster that went off the rails more than a year ago in Daytona Beach is now gone.

The site of the Sand Blaster is sitting empty.

The accident severely injured six people, causing the coaster to never reopen.
