CHOPPER VIDEO: Crash with possible spill causing major backups on I-4 in Orlando

A crash is causing major backups on Interstate 4 in Orlando Monday morning. The Florida Highway Patrol said the crash happened near the Central Florida Parkway shortly before 7 a.m.

A crash involving two semi-trucks and a diesel fuel spill led to traffic backups on Interstate 4 at Central Florida Parkway in Orlando Monday morning, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Shortly, before 7 a.m., troopers said a semi-truck was traveling westbound when it failed to stop for another semi and an SUV stopped in traffic ahead.

As a result, FHP said the semi-truck crashed into the back of the other semi, causing that truck to hit the back of a Nissan Rogue.

The crash shut down all westbound lanes in the area for more than one hour, as crews worked to clean up and remove the diesel fuel spill following the collision.

The majority of the lanes have since reopened.

An FHP spokesperson said the two semi-truck drivers were taken to Dr. Phillips Hospital with minor injuries.

The Rogue's driver and passenger were not hurt and remained at the scene.

The crash remains under investigation.
