Country Thunder fans still waiting for refund after music festival canceled because of Hurricane Milton
KISSIMMEE, Fla. - Hurricane Milton forced organizers to cancel the Country Thunder music festival in Kissimmee over two months ago, and people say they're still waiting on refunds.
A couple weeks ago, Country Thunder told FOX 35 and customers, "We feel confident… tickets will be refunded no later than December 26th."
But close of business, December 26th, has come and gone, and Meghan Messier is still waiting.
"I haven't received a single email stating a receipt of any refund processing, and I don't have anything showing in my account as being processed either," she said.
Messier said she tried calling them last week multiple times a day, over the course of multiple days. "I got the ‘Thank you for calling Country Thunder. We're busy assisting other fans right now. Try again later,’ every single time I called."

And then, this week, callers got an answering machine that said, "Thank you for calling Country Thunder Music Festivals. Our offices are currently closed from December 21st to January 5th."
Earlier this month, Country Thunder told FOX 35 News the refund process has been time-consuming because, "each order must be manually verified to ensure accuracy before refunds can be issued. Additionally, we have to verify payment methods and examine all chargebacks initiated by fans through their credit card companies."
"I'm not panicking, but I am irritated because you said December 26th, there's no money," Messier said. "Stop saying things if that's not what you mean."
So what’s the hold up? Since calls and emails are going unanswered, we don’t know. We do know customers are unhappy.
"At this point, I will never, never. Participate in the countries under purchase tickets from them again," Messier said.
