Bomb threat at Conway Elementary leads to worried parents fighting, deputies say

A group of worried parents reportedly got into a fight while waiting to pick up their children after Conway Elementary was evacuated because of a bomb threat Tuesday afternoon, according to the Orange County Sheriff's Office.

At least 100 parents arrived to the Orlando school to pick up their student, and at one point, some parents climbed a fence of a nearby church, which was the designated pickup location, authorities said.

Shortly thereafter, the children were reunited with their parents and the crowd dispersed, authorities said. No one was reportedly hurt, and no arrests were made.

The incident happened around noon when deputies said a school employee received a bomb threat by phone, prompting the evacuation. Deputies searched the campus and did not find a bomb.

Students and staff were able to return to class and the school was dismissed at its regularly scheduled time, a spokesperson for the school district said.

The threat remains under investigation.
