Orlando weather: Coldest air of the season hits Central Florida; When will warmer temps return?

Orlando Forecast: Tuesday Night, December 3rd

ORLANDO, Fla. - The coldest air since February has come into Central Florida, but if you are not a fan, it will be gone soon enough.

The warm-up starts this weekend. You can expect high temperatures in the mid-70s for all locations on Saturday and Sunday under complete sunshine. Not as cold at night either!

As we head into Wednesday, freeze warnings and frost advisories have been issued across parts of North Central and Central Florida, as lows will drop into the 30s. 

In Marion and Alachua counties, temperatures will drop below freezing. 

The Orlando metropolitan area will dip below 40 degrees by mid-morning. The record low on this day for Orlando was 35 degrees, set in 1989, while the average low for this time of year is around 55 degrees.

As we are likely to see more days this winter with the potential for freezing temperatures, it's important to remember to protect your pets and plants, as well as pipes and plumbing around swimming pools. Bring your pets and plants inside or to a warm shelter, let water drip slowly through pipes and keep your pool pump running. Also, be sure to exercise safety when using heaters. 

Temperatures will really get warm again (above average) next week, with temperatures in the low-mid 80s next Tuesday and Wednesday. The average high temperature this time of year is 75 degrees.
