Four years ago this week, Officer Brad Fox lost his life in the line of duty. The Plymouth Township Officer and his K9 partner were both shot while in a foot pursuit.

Officer Fox died as a result of his injuries on September 13, 2012. His K9 partner Nick survived, and the suspect died of a self inflicted gunshot wound.

Fox's death came on the eve of his 35th birthday.

September 14th now hold a special meaning for his wife and two young children.

Each year since his passing, his wife Lynsay gathers her children, daughter Kadence, and son Brad, who was born six months after Officer Fox was killed.

Once together, the children sing happy birthday to their late father, and release balloons, sending them to their father up in heaven, hoping he will catch them. The balloons are accompanied by kissed, also sent in officer Fox's direction.

A Facebook page and website have been set up to honor Officer Fox's Memory.
