ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35) - Altamonte Springs Police are investigating burglaries at a shopping plaza that left several stores without electricity for hours on Sunday.
The incidents happened at the West Town Corners shopping plaza along State Road 434 in the early morning. Burglars smashed the doors of multiple businesses, but none reported anything stolen.
“Apparently, they smashed in the door with some kind of ice pick because it was left at the front,” said one employee.
Four businesses, including Papa Johns, Planet Smoothie, Sports Clips and Sushi Eat Station were affected. The suspect also cut power to those businesses.
Employees said this is not the first time this has happened and hope for more police patrols.
