A bullet flew through the window of Antioch Free Will Baptist Church in DeLand on New Year's Eve into a room full of parishioners.

Andrea Howell watched as the bullet zipped by several people who had just finished a church service and were having food together in the fellowship hall.

"This fellowship hall was full of people. It went right by my pastor's head. The bullet was still smoking when it landed, and by the grace of God no one was hurt," she said.

It landed on the floor, a few feet away from the window.  Howell said gunfire in the area started at around 6 o'clock and sounded very different from the fireworks.

Angia Graham was at the service  with her grandson and spent some time in the fellowship hall, but she said it was too crowded, so she left early.

"I said, 'Let's go on home, so the rest of them can have seats to sit,' so we got our breakfast and we went home!"

She is glad she wasn’t there and that no one was hurt.

"God is good all the time! Glory be to God!"
