SALINAS, Calif. - A 4-year-old boy who dreamed of visiting a broccoli farm finally had his wish come true.
Little Max's story went viral when his parents told him they were going to a broccoli farm, but surprised him with a trip to the circus instead.
The plan backfired. "I wanted to go to the broccoli farm" he said as his eyes filled with huge tears.
After seeing his video on YouTube, the team at Tanimura & Antle, a third generation family-owned farm, invited Max to visit them in Salinas.
"The Tanimura and Antle families believe that educating children about farming and the importance of their food source is the best tool to promote lifelong healthy eating habits" Caitlin Antle Wilson said in a press release.
Max and his family flew to California from New Jersey. They saw broccoli being harvested, rode tractors and helped prepare the fields for future broccoli crops.
“Max truly loved touring our broccoli farm and we know we have a broccoli fan for life!" Wilson said.
