'Lucky to be alive': Small plane crashes in Florida swamp

Three people were injured after a small plane crashed near Lake Tohopekaliga in Osceola County on Friday afternoon.

Josh Miller was in his backyard when the plane crashed in the marsh near his home.

"I was out changing the siding of my house, and I looked off to the right and saw the airplane coming in and crashed into the bank of my pond and the parachute catapulted it into the woods," said Miller. "It just started raining super hard, the wind was blowing like crazy, the parachute was dragging it across."

Two adults and one juvenile were taken to the hospital with injuries, Osceola Fire Rescue said.

According to the FAA, the plane was manufactured in 2018 and is registered to an owner out of Plantation, Florida. The FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board will investigate.
