Body of Putnam County Deputy found

PUTNAM, Fla WOFL - Divers with The Putnam County Sheriff's Office have recovered the body of Deputy Brandee Smith from the Saint Johns River. PCSO officials say Smith was out on the river around 4:40 am Friday morning when her boat struck a channel marker and she was thrown overboard. Divers found her body in the Welaka area of the Saint Johns river around 1:45 this afternoon. The Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission will continue to investigate the incident.
