Boaters advised to stay off St Johns after sunset

Brevard County Emergency Management is advising boaters to stay off of St. Johns River from sunset to sunrise due to serious threat of life and property.

St. Johns River is currently at 16-feet, 8-inches and at moderate flood stage, making conditions unsafe. Seminole County Emergency Management on Friday issued an executive order that prohibits boating of all types on the river.

While no order is currently in place in Brevard County, river conditions are not safe for boaters after dark.
