VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. (FOX 35 WOFL) - A Blue Spring State Park employee was arrested for possessing child pornography.
The Volusia County Sheriff's Office says 43-year-old Richard Darby was arrested at home on Monday afternoon and charged with 20 counts of possessing photos of sexual performance by a child. The arrest comes after sheriff’s detectives executed a search warrant at the suspect’s home June 29.
Detectives say that they were alerted of the crime in late May by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. While searching Darby's home, they found images of children as young as one to three years old in sexually explicit situations.
More charges are pending as detectives are said to be continuing their search for any additional potential victims of sexual exploitation. Anyone who may have been a victim of this suspect or any similar case is urged to call the Child Exploitation Unit at 386-323-3574 .
