Authorities warn that bobcats are killing pets in Flagler Beach
FLAGLER BEACH, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35) - Cats, dogs, even rabbits, are missing or have been killed in one Flagler Beach neighborhood. The suspected culprit: a bobcat.
One of Bill Petty's cats, Zoe, is a victim. She was an outdoor cat.
"Unfortunately, after 9 years something caught her and it was a big something," Petty said,.
Zoe was found dead on a neighbor's porch, with bite marks on her body. People in this area believe it's a bobcat killing their pets and wildlife in the area of 16th Street South and 27th Street South.
Neighbors say it's been a problem for months, such a problem they started their own Facebook group called, "Save Flagler Beach Pets." They're trying to come up with a solution, including hiring a trapper.
