Accused killer Markeith Loyd was back in court on Thursday.

His new lead defense attorney is not happy that Judge Frederick Lauten wants Loyd to be tried in January of 2019 on charges of killing Sade Dixon, his pregnant ex-girlfriend.  The attorney is asking for more time.

State Attorney Brad King on Thursday said he will use some evidence from the murder of Orlando Police Lieutenant Debra Clayton in the case as well.

"The shell casings match -- . the proof just that the same gun was used and the gun was ultimately found where Mr. Loyd was arrested and so it goes to that proof," said King.
