ORLANDO, Fla. - An Orlando man was taken to a hospital in critical condition after the car he was driving went off the road and into a retention pond in Orange County Monday morning, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Troopers said the single-car crash happened shortly after 6:30 a.m. in the area of Alafaya Trail and State Road 408.
According to a news release, troopers said the 41-year-old was traveling east on the SR-408 exit ramp to Alafaya Trail when he "failed to negotiate a left turn" and traveled through the intersection, crossing all northbound and southbound lanes of Alafaya Trail.
