April the Giraffe's son, Taj, celebrates first birthday

HARPURSVILLE, Ny. (FOX 35 WOFL) - On Sunday, April 15th, the son of April the Giraffe celebrated his first birthday.

Animal Adventure Park in Harpursville, New York held a celebration for the little giraffe, Taj, featuring lettuce-and-carrots birthday cake.

Jordan Patch, the owner of Animal Adventure Park, says that "Certainly a baby giraffe is a big deal for any facility that produces one. But the world to be standing by, watching and tuning in from birth to first birthday -- we never anticipated that."

Taj is longer than your average one-year-old, standing ten-feet tall. 

Animal Adventure Park will re-open to the public for the Spring Season on May 16th.
