Fire breaks out at Orange County apartment complex

A fire broke out at an Orange County apartment building along Americana Boulevard near Rio Grande Avenue early Monday.

An Orange County apartment building was engulfed in flames Monday morning.

Orange County Fire Rescue responded to the 2-story complex, along Americana Boulevard near Rio Grande Avenue, just before 5 a.m. after receiving a 911 call reporting the fire and smoke, the fire department shared on X (formerly Twitter.)

All residents evacuated the building before crews arrived and there were no injuries reported, officials said. 

While the fire is out, crews are still at the scene monitoring hot spots. The state fire marshal is investigating the cause of the blaze.

The building has been deemed a total loss. More than a dozen units have been displaced, according to the Orange County Fire Chief.

Orange County fire chief gives update on apartment blaze

Orange County Fire Rescue responded to the complex, along Americana Boulevard near Rio Grande Avenue, just before 5 a.m. Officials said no one was inside the building when crews arrived and there were no injuries reported. The building has been deemed a total loss.

No other details were immediately released.
