Another player comes to defense of Jameis Winston
Another football player comes to the aid of Jameis Winston saying that groping accusations of the Uber driver that have been reported are "just not true."
Ronald Darby, a defensive back for the Philadelphia Eagles, released a statement Sunday morning, saying that the Tampa Bay quarterback was not alone with the Uber driver at the time of the incident last March.
Representatives from Jameis Winston sent us the statement:
"I felt the need to come forward and clarify some inaccurate accounts of the evening of March 13, 2016 when myself, a friend and Jameis Winston took an Uber ride in Arizona. There were three of us in the car, not just one as has been reported. Myself and Jameis were in the backseat. I am confident that nothing inappropriate in nature happened in the car that evening and Jameis did not have any physical contact with the Uber driver. The accusations are just not true."
Last week, a report came out of sexual assault allegations around Winston after an Uber driver claimed he touched her between her legs without consent during a car ride in 2016. Winston has since released a statement denying the claim.
