Amazon reportedly to unveil 'Remarkable Alexa' with conversational AI in August

Amazon is reportedly revamping Alexa to include a conversational generative AI, as exclusively reported by Reuters.
According to the outlet, the AI add-on will feature two tiers of service with a monthly fee of around $5 to access the superior version.
The project is known within the company as "Banyan," which is a reference to the sprawling ficus trees.
The upgrade will be called "Remarkable Alexa," the people with inside knowledge told Reuters.

The outlet also reported that Amazon is pushing to roll out the new and improved service by August.

Amazon declined to comment to FOX Television Stations.
However, the company has previously announced it will upgrade Alexa and make it more valuable to customers.
Amazon’s Alexa has been available to customers for nearly a decade, with it having since been incorporated into a slew of the company's devices. Meanwhile, generative AI has grown following the rollout of OpenAI’s chatbot ChatGPT in November 2022.
Last year, Amazon said that it is cutting "several hundred" jobs within its Alexa division.
The layoffs came as the e-commerce giant is "shifting some of our efforts to better align with our business priorities, and what we know matters most to customers —which includes maximizing our resources and efforts focused on generative AI," an Amazon spokesperson confirmed to FOX Business.
